Dr. Akhilesh Kumar is currently working as an Associate Professor in the area of Operations and Quantitative Methods at IIM Raipur. Previously, he worked as an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Industrial & Systems Engineering at IIT Kharagpur and Solution Architect in consulting team at JDA Software, Bangalore. He received his B.Tech degree in Manufacturing Engineering from NIFFT (India) and Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University (U.S.A.) in the year 2005 and 2011, respectively. He has authored several technical papers. His publications appeared in such journals as European Journal of Operational Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Expert System with Applications, IEEE. He was team lead for IoT in predictive maintenance project with SAMARTH Udyog Bharat 4.0, Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India. He has carried out various research and consultancy projects with Shell, Tata Sons, Tata Metaliks, Tata Hitachi, TM International Logistics Ltd., DHI Govt. of India, Eurpoean Union, Ford Motor Company and Delphi Automotive LLP. Dr. Kumar is recipient of Faculty Excellence Award 2020 at IIT Kharagpur. He also appeared on Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2011 and in World in 2017.
